Debbie was born in Brisbane and has been living in the Beaudesert area for more than 15 years. She has an advanced diploma in ceramics from Southbank T.A.F.E. and has exhibited her work in various places around Queensland.

She writes: "I have always been involved in the arts in one way or another. When I was introduced to pottery, my passion grew and I have been addicted ever since. Encouraged by groups I have joined, my T.A.F.E experience, and the many workshops I have taken part in, my need to create never stops growing.
"In my final year at T.A.F.E., I built a woodfired kiln on my property and although firings are as long as 20 hours, the amaing time is when the kiln is opened. Nature has a way of creating beauty with fire and ash, and if we're lucky, the results can be amazing.Luck is a big part of working with wood firing, and having one or more special pieces come out of a firing is a bonus and well worth all the blood sweat and tears."
