xxxxxxxxsome examples of Mel's work - from left to right: "Mother's Love", "Naughty Elf", "Intense", "Tree Angel"
Wanting a sea change, Melissa and family moved from Brisbane to Tamborine in late 2003. Recieving awards in photography and working as a successful make-up artist was rewarding but once experiencing the organic feel and expression of clay, sculpting became her passion.
"I work freely trying not to set restrictions on the final outcome. This allows the piece just to evolve, I then concertrate on texture and movement. My boys are my inspiration: their pure, inquisitive and imaginitive minds and also their love for nature."
Finally, Mel seals each piece carefully to withstand the outside elements so that her work can find a home inside or outside.
